Model of Trevithick's locomotive
From the Smithsonian Collection
This is a model of Richard Trevithick's locomotive, which was built in 1804 in Pen-y-darren, Wales for the use at the Pen-y-darren Iron Works. The Trevithick locomotive was the first steam engine propelled on rails. The model was refurbished in February of 1963.
